Equipping and being Equipped

Another month has flown by and 2019 is coming to a close. It’s crazy how fast this year has gone, but since we seem to say that every year, maybe that’s just how fast a year goes. Either way, it has been such a great year!

We celebrated Thanksgiving here in the States last week and there are so many things that we are thankful for. We are thankful for you as you take the time to read what God is doing in our lives and ministry. We are thankful for our ministry partners and the ways that they both pray for us and give generously to the work God has called us to. We are thankful for this season and the chance we have to reflect on Jesus’ birth and on the Gospel – the reason we’re in ministry in the first place. We are also thankful that in this season, we are starting to see the fruit of our ministry and what we are trying to accomplish through EE Changemakers.

We saw this particularly at the beginning of November as Ashley took two Changemakers from this year’s internship in Fiji to the EE International Headquarters in North Carolina. They participated in a week-long training with the US ministry in preparation to officially begin their two-year placement as part of EE Changemakers. They thoroughly enjoyed the training and were encouraged to keep pressing on as they raise their support. Maddie will be working alongside us for two years as we establish the program in Fiji and Lord willing, in two other locations over this time. Bianca will work alongside us until she raises her support and she will then have an opportunity to move to North Carolina and serve in the many departments there for at least a year. It excites us to see two young girls seeking the Lord and wanting to step out in faith to serve Him through this ministry

In the month of November, Ashley and I also took a trip up to the Headquarters to participate in a weeklong leadership training. We are a part of new process called Transformational Leadership where the ministry is training us to invest in and serve the current and future leaders of EE. We have been growing a lot through this training and we are excited by the impact it will have as we plan to raise up young leaders around the world for many years to come.

As we finish out the year, we are beginning to make a push for recruitment for EE Changemakers 2020 beginning in June in Fiji. Currently we have received two applications and we have eight people who are very interested and seriously praying about applying. If you know of any young adults who would love to spend 6 weeks in Fiji seeking and serving the Lord, direct them to our website eechangemakers.org. Please join us as we pray for 10-15 applicants for Fiji 2020.

Much Love,

M & A
